Nvidia Back on Top

This past week Nvidia officially announced their new flagship duel GPU cideo card the GTX 590. This beast combines two GTX 580's for double the power on one card. Nvidia has really pulled out all the stops for this card which can easily hold it's own against the competitor the AMD Radeon 6990.

Some of the new features include a mini display port on the rear I/O and their new 3D surround technology. 3D surround allows the user to have three monitors hooked up to only one graphics card and be able to display 3D graphics on all three displays. Previously when you wanted to do this you would have had to get another graphics card and use the SLI feature to achieve 3D surround but now that can be done with only one of these monsters. When I say monsters I mean monsters. The GTX 590 come in at about 11 1/2 inches x 4 1/2 inches and you will need a larger mid sized tower or full tower to handle one of these babies.

The technical specs on this card are also monstrous as well with 1024 CUDA cores, a 612 MHz graphics clock, 1224 MHz processor clock, 3420 memory clock, and 3 gigabytes of GDDR5 memory. With out a doubt the GTX 590 is king of the graphics card market and I look forward to seeing some of the things people will be able to do with this monster since I neither have the money nor the worthiness to own one.

That's it for me this has been Taylor with another breaking story that mattered to me. For more information on the GTX 590 visit Nvidia at www.nvidia.com
